A talk on Tuesday 12th March will be given by Jim G3RTD entitled ‘Small Active Receive Antennas for the Noisey QTH’.
There was a short demonstration of this antenna at the club last year which demonstrated considerable improvements to reception. The talk is highly recommended for those who have a noisy QTH and for those who may wish to explore possible improvements at their own QTH.
Congratulations to Tim 2E0TYH, Chris 2E0FDH and Bob 2E0FEB on passing their Intermediate exams and gaining their new call signs.
I have added two new headings to the Club Events column, these are For Sale and Projects.
Please note that we will be moving to the Winter Timetable for November through to end of March 2019. That is meetings on 2nd and 4th Tuesdays only.
Further note that there will be no meeting on the 25th December.
Message from the Treasurer, Paul G1SNI
A reminder to those that missed the AGM, the subs are due and remain the same as last year. They are £30.00 (concession £25.00) if you renew/join in April/May/June and pro-rata after that. You can pay by cash or cheque at any club night or if you want to pay by BACS let me know direct to the below email address and I will send you the bank details.
The Tuesday evening talk by Colin on Astronomy was well received by all members, very interesting and educational. Well done Colin.
It is with sad news that I announce the passing away of Derek G3BVB, a long term member, on 1st November, 2017.
Those who know Derek will remember a real gentleman who was a great asset to the club. Unfortunately the past few years, due to age, he has not been too active at the club but continued on the radio with many of his worldwide contacts.
His funeral will take place on 17th November at the Dorchester Cemetery Chapel at 13:30, if you wish to attend please contact me.
Make a note, there will be no evening meeting as it is Boxing Day.
There will be a Boxing Day Net at 11:00 on 2m and 40m, you are all welcome to join in.
We will be holding our Annual Christmas Quiz on Tuesday 12th December at the club. Bring wives, girl-friends or partners. As usual there will be a choice of eats supplied by the members. Questions are light hearted and easy.
